LENA JAKOBSSON COMMUNICATIONS
Emmy-winning Producer,
telling your story

Intentional, targeted communication needs to meets the moment and resonate with stakeholders, be they jurors, donors, media, clients, or your own teams.
Build trust. Control the narrative. Spur action.
Seem daunting? Let me help.
In an industry where news breaks fast and personalities run strong, I got a 25-year crash course in communication strategy, message focus, and crisis management. As a producer with organizations like CNN, ABC, Vice News, Court TV, and Investigation Discovery, I've made nuanced, complex topics accessible and compelling, earning the Peabody and George Polk awards, along with two Emmys. Along the way, I tackled the obstacles in my path with agility and a cool head. (And, on deadline.)
Now a coach and consultant, I put that skillset to work for you.
Work with me to clear out the thicket between you and your audience,
and craft clear messaging that drives results.
Because everyone needs a good story.
You have a mission, and I have the messaging strategy to support it.
Let's elevate your brand's position with smart content creation and media relations; build awareness; rally your team; and target every stakeholder
in an intentional and engaging way.
A disruption or threat to the very core of your brand and purpose can be catastrophic. I can help lead through the storm, clearly defining priorities and a communications agenda to maintain operations,
protect reputation, and preserve trust.
After nearly two decades at the intersection of media and the law, I'm intimately familiar with the legal environment and its high-stakes communications juggling act. Let's talk about how to increase visibility,
get ahead of the narrative, or maximize jury focus and trust
during courtroom litigation.
In customizable workshops and dynamic presentations, I delve into real data on how audiences absorb information in our rapidly changing environment, and leave your teams with the tools and inspiration to break through the noise. Great for conferences, professional development events, or one-off sessions. See my speaker one-sheet here.

I've spent most of my professional life as a news and documentary producer with national and international organizations - and I could not have dreamed of a more fascinating first chapter. I've honed my storytelling skills across platforms, and led teams through uncertainty and chaos. From climate change to criminal justice, I've learned how to take complex, nuanced topics and make my audience care.
My desire to make an impact started in my teens - marching against nukes and racism in my native Sweden, and traveling across continents on my own... always writing, collecting the stories around me. Eventually, journalism became the obvious path to combine storytelling with my aim to change the world for the better. And I'd like to think I have, just a little; amplifying marginalized voices, and connecting my viewers and readers
with the world around them.
The longest, and most impactful, stop of my journalism career was Court TV. I had a front row seat to nearly 200 courtroom dramas coast-to-coast; watched masterful advocates connect with the jury box and the public, and saw strategic missteps doom slam dunks; learned about human nature and the tools of persuasion. From Columbine to Casey Anthony, I covered big stories and found ways to make them relevant to my audience - as producer, writer, on-air reporter and commentator.
Every assignment since has built on that: The understanding of how
our minds work, and how to craft narratives accordingly.
I’m now leveraging my skillset to tell stories of a different kind:
Helping professionals and organizations hone their voice with effective, message-driven narratives both internally and externally.
The truth is that I've always been an advocate at heart.
